When I was first introduced to Internet Marketing I was amazed that I could write an ebook and then sell it for $25 on my website. It was pretty easy to figure out that I would have to sell 200 ebooks a month to get to my income goal of $5,000. That didn?t sound too bad at first, but it didn?t take long for me to realize that it took a lot of work promoting the ebook to get anywhere close to that many sales. And, it took even more time to take care of questions and customer service with that many customers.

The basic idea is that people will gladly pay you for your expertise and personal attention. Given a choice, I?d much rather pay a few hundred dollars to have someone show me how to set up a membership site, start a scrapbooking business, or get my baby to sleep through the night. Being able to get feedback and ask questions obviously would make anything new we are doing faster and a lot easier.

I mentioned that people are willing to pay a premium for this kind of personal attention. Coaching programs sell for anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand per month. Let?s low ball it and say that I start offering a coaching program in addition to my ebook and that clients pay $250 for a month of coaching. Now I only have to make 20 sales a month to get to my income goal.
